CAD Files CHRO Grievance Against Movie Theaters Everyday deaf, hard of hearing and late deafened CT residents have experienced inadequate captioning at local movie theaters. Only a few movie theaters are captioned in English at very limited times and remote places in CT. CAD advocates for full captioning access in any movices, at any place, and at any time in CT. The captioning technology is available but the movie industries refuse to cooperate by providing increased movice access not only to deaf and hard of hearing audiences but to the families, people with English as second language, learning disability, and foreigners. Local TV News Captioning Committee State Representative David McClusky, Committee Chair is working with local TV station managers to improve captioning on all local news programming, emergency broadcasting, and live-captioning. With him are Dr Harvey Corson, Jim Pedersen, Marc Gallucci, Candace Low and Mark Myers on the committee. Revival of the Deaf Education Bill of Rights CAD Board of Directors in cooperation with other organizations of the deaf considers a follow-up and re-evaluation of the current educational choices by Deaf and HOH students in CT.
